Admin Guide: Inspection Outcomes

Created by Brittany Hildreth, Modified on Tue, 27 May at 4:23 PM by Brittany Hildreth

This feature enables users to standardize outcome on each inspection. Any dashboard user closing an inspection will be able to indicate what decision was made, and any dashboard user viewing a closed inspection will be able to know what happened with that inspection.

Vision's outcomes feed directly into the client's system of record through an API integration.

How does it work?

If an outcome is assigned to an inspection type (which can be done through the Outcomes tab for Admins), a pop-up will appear once an agent is closing out an inspection on the dashboard.

A screenshot of the Inspection Details screen is shown, with the Close Inspection prompt on top of it. In the Close Inspection Prompt, the box reads "Are you sure you want to close this inspection? Once closed, this inspection cannot be reopened. You must send a new inspection to obtain more photos." Under this text, there are 3 options for Inspection Outcome: Approved, Other, and Denied. There is also a text box labeled "Reason: Optional". At the bottom of the screen, there are buttons to cancel or Close Inspection.

This will generate a memo line under the Close Status on the Timeline, so others can review what the outcome of the inspection was and maintain proper tracking.

A screenshot of the Inspection Details screen is shown. At the top of the middle pane, there is a box that says "Closed. Outcome: Approved. The customer provided all necessary information."

Please note: Once agents close an inspection with an outcome, the outcome cannot be changed.

How to Setup an Outcome for Your Team

If you are an admin on the account, you can create and manage outcomes by selecting the gear icon in the lower left hand corner of your dashboard.

Clicking the Gear Icon will open the Site Settings. Under Configure Inspections, you will see the option for Outcomes.

A screenshot of the Outcomes screen in Site Settings is shown. On the left, under Manage Inspections, then Inspection Types, Outcomes is selected. On the right, a new Outcome Set screen is shown. There are fields for Outcome Set Name and Possible Outcomes. At the bottom of this pane are buttons to Cancel or Save Changes.

From there, select + CREATE OUTCOME SET.

Once you have created the Outcome, go to Inspection Types in the Site Settings to select the Inspection Type you would like to associate it with; selecting specific one will open the editor where you can select your Outcome from the drop down menu.

A screenshot of Inspection Type is shown. There are fields for Inspection Type Name and Teams, and dropdowns for List, Message Template, and Outcome Set. Outcome Set is highlighted with a red arrow and box.

Once you have completed the fields, select SAVE CHANGES and refresh the browser window.

With this in place, once an agent closes the inspection, the Outcomes box will appear with those provided options.
