The Messages screen or tab (depending on which experience you're using) allows agents to respond to user messages directly from the Vision Dashboard. Text Messages are only available if:
- the user has a phone number input into the inspection
- that phone number is a wireless device
- the user hasn't unsubscribed from text messages from the Vision Dashboard
This feature needs to be enabled for each Team; this can be done by submitting a request to your Customer Success Manager.

New Experience:
Text messages can be replied to from the Messages screen in the Inspection Details page. Click on the Messages screen to see any messages sent to or from the end user.
Text messages can be sent from this screen as well, at the bottom of the pane. Type your text message, then hit "Send Text".
Please note: Messages can only be sent out from a Created or In Progress inspection.
For a Closed inspections: The Message text box will be hidden and will not appear.
For a Canceled inspection: The Message text box will be disabled/grayed out.
Users cannot reply with media files (photos/videos) through text messages, though emoji are accepted.
If a user sends a text message, they will receive an auto-reply. The auto-reply is triggered once every 24 hours.
Old Experience:
In this experience, the Messages tab is the far-left option in the center pane of the Inspection Details screen. You can click on the Messages tab from the Inspection Details page to view the most recent messages from users.
To send a new message to a user, click the Send Text Message button. This will open a pop-up chat box where you are able to write and send your message (with a character limit of 320 characters including spaces) directly to the user's phone number associated with the inspection. If the Send Text Message option is not shown, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager to have them enable it for your Team.
If a user sends a text message, they will receive an auto-reply. The auto-reply is triggered once every 24 hours.
Once you have clicked the Send button on the text message, the text will appear in the timeline for Messages along with the date and time that it was sent out to the user.
Please note: Messages can only be sent out from a Created or In Progress inspection.
