What Connectivity is required for the Truepic Vision app?

Internet connectivity is required to upload images and video using the Truepic Vision app. If the device does not have a connection, the camera may be disabled until it regains connectivity. In some cases, Offline Capture will allow users in remote environments to perform functions of their inspection, and the information and images will upload when they return to a location with connectivity.

Offline Capture allows users to take pictures, videos, and answer questions offline. It allows users to not experience any interruptions while performing an inspection. Please note: Users will still need internet  access to receive an inspection request. They will also still need connectivity to download the app.  Most importantly, users need to open up the app for at least 2 seconds with internet access. Afterwards, they can close or even quit the app, and when they are ready to perform an inspection, they will no longer need any internet access. If geofencing is enabled, they will need a GPS connection, but that is it. Once they return to a location with cell or wifi signal, their items will upload, and they will be able to submit their inspection.

Once an image is captured, it can theoretically be uploaded to the Truepic server with any level or type of connection, however, given the file sizes, weaker connections will take a long time.

We always recommend a strong WiFi or cellular data connection to ensure that photos are uploaded to the Truepic server within a timely manner without interruption.
